Smoked Short Ribs Cooked To Perfection

This smoked short ribs recipe is one of our favorites. Short ribs are a great cut of beef to put in the smoker. They’re meaty, juicy and have great flavor. Give this recipe a shot. You’ll need…

2 or 3 pounds of beef short ribs or as many as you can fit in your smoker.

The Rub

  • 4tbls. Sweet paprika
  • 2Tbls.Seasoning salt
  • 1tbls. Cayenne pepper
  • 1tbls. Onion powder
  • 1tsp. Mild curry
  • 1tsp. White pepper
  • 1tsp. Brown sugar
  • 1tsp. Celery salt
  • ½ Tsp. cumin

Mix all spices together until thoroughly combined then apply a liberal coating to the ribs.

The Smoker

Heat the smoker up to 225 degrees. Arrange the ribs in the smoker so there is a little room between each one, about ½ inch or so.

Add some wood chips and close the lid. The kind of wood chips and amount of smoke should fit to your taste. If you keep smoker temperature real close to 225 degrees the ribs should be done in about 4 to 5 hours.

When the meat separates from the bone easily, they’re ready to eat. Make sure you have enough ribs for the whole group because they will go fast.
